Books
I’m sometimes almost embarrassed by the number of books I’ve had published, but then again why should I be? I always say that, if the first one had sold better, I wouldn’t have needed to write so many more. And some of the titles – especially the plays and the humorous ones – are very slim volumes.
But before I list all my past publications, let’s have look at this year. 2010 will see the publication of two more novels and a play (taking the running total up to 83). In March Macmillan will publish the eleventh in the series of Fethering Mysteries; THE SHOOTING IN THE SHOP, and the tenth, THE POISONING IN THE PUB, will come out in paperback at the same time. Last year I started a new venture with a new publisher when Constable published BLOTTO, TWINKS AND THE EX-KING’S DAUGHTER, which, as the title might suggest, is a not entirely serious crime novel. And I’m glad to say that the sequel, BLOTTO, TWINKS AND THE DEAD DOWAGER DUCHESS, will be published this summer.

Right, so my list of publications... Here goes...(and to get a larger image, just click on the relevant book jacket)

Christmas can be murder... Carole Seddon hates Christmas - it all seems rather a waste of time. So when her neighbour and best friend, Jude, drags her along to go shopping at a local store called Gallimaufry, she can feel her inner-Scrooge knocking. But the sales are on and even Carole can’t resist a bargain. Then, a few days later, Gallimaufry is burnt down and a body is discovered in the ashes. It seems like a tragic accident, but no-one can die of natural causes when a gun is involved. The victim was young, pretty and in a long-term relationship - who could possibly want her dead? With a host of suspicious characters - the infamous womanizer Ricky Le Bonnier with a string of ex-wives; Piers Duncton, a comedy writer who just isn’t that funny; or Anna Carter, the lonely dog walker - the lady detectives know they have their work cut out for them. And as they dig deeper they discover a host of half-truths and lies. It seems that someone in Fethering has a deep, dark, deadly secret - and is prepared to kill to keep it.
